Replacement Locking Mechanisms
If your UPVC door mechanism fails we supply a professional service for fitting a new one for you. There is also no need to worry if your door is shut when it fails, as we are very experienced in opening them quickly and with the minimum fuss.
If your UPVC mechanism fails, we aim to open and then secure your door until we can replace your lock, normally within 24 - 48 hours.
Replacement Locks/Cylinders
UPVC door locks/cylinders can be difficult to replace, as they come in so many different sizes, types and finishes. The main thing to worry about is that they don’t stick out from the handle, as they can then easily be snapped off by burglars and the door opened in seconds.
We carry virtually all sizes and finishes of UPVC cylinder on our vans, so we can replace your lock on our first visit.

Fitting Higher Security Cylinders
We fit many different types of higher end cylinders. Although we fit 5 pin cylinders as standard, we can supply and fit higher security cylinders on request. A common weakness with all euro and oval cylinders is snapping (whereby the cylinder can be snapped in half and then access gained quite easily) and many people are increasingly becoming concerned at “bumping” (whereby a lock can be “bumped” open with a specially cut down key). Both of these methods are regularly shown on the internet!
We can supply and fit virtually all types of high security cylinder, including; bump resistant, snap resistant, pin in pin and restricted profile cylinders.
We would also highly recommend having Sash Jammers fitted to your UPVC door. In the case of the security on your lock being compromised, these are a very affordable way of keeping your door held closed and therefore a very good additional layer of security.

Fitting “Thumbturn” Locks
These are becoming very popular in commercial properties and flats, to comply with tougher fire regulations. They are also popular with the elderly. The idea behind them is that in the event of a fire, you don’t have to search around for a key, but just turn the thumbturn on the inside of the door to release the deadlock. Thumbturn cylinders work off a key from the outside, as normal.
Adjusting Hanging/Closing of Door
Over time your door can feel harder to close or lock. This may be in closing the door, lifting the handle to throw the locking points or turning the key to deadlock. It is normally quite a simple thing for us to fix. Failure to do so may put too much pressure on the working parts and result in a broken mechanism and all the extra cost and problems which that involves (especially if you’re locked outside when it fails!).
